I want to attempt to sell a personal service on a very small scale. Will it require a business license, even if my profits are minimal? Can I see if I can get customers prior to getting a business license?

Hi,
Each town and city have different requirements. All you need to do is check with your Town Municipality Office or an Accountant. They will
be able to tell you!
Good luck

I don’t think its required, but you can open a DBA with your bank (doing business as) so you have at least a bank account. If you start making big money then you would need to register your company with state for tax purposes

Definitely check with the city gov in your area. I had to get one & I run a very tiny at home business as well. Everyone wants a piece of your income. And BTW/ the city contacted ME! They knew I was setting it up (somehow), so don’t try & duck this–there are penalties.
