The first thing you have to have is a business plan. Without it, no one will consider investing. There are many examples that you can see on the net. There are several software programs that you can buy for about a $100.00 to help you with the plan.

You might also talk to the SBA. They can give you a lot of advise and direct you to sources of capital.

Well if money is a problem I suppose you do not have enough to hire someone to locate venture capital for you. Their services are in the range of $25,000 to $50,000. Some are less expensive, but that is the ball park.

I suppose you have a corporation or LLC since you indicated you had a business plan.

You might talk to your friends and relatives, see if they might be interested in investing in your company and owning shares that are redeemable. You might figue what you need, draw up a plan invite them over, explain your plan and sell them shares at about $5000 to $10000. You will have to select an amount, it could be more or less depending on the amount you need.

Another is advertise in your local newspaper that a growing company is in need of short term or long term financing, part ownership or investment loan and will pay back over a certain period which ever method seem to work for you.

Make sure you can produce a way of repayment in each case. You will also need your business plan to mail to some as they might want to see it before making a decision as to if they want t invest or not.

You might call the local Chamber of Commerce to find out if any memeber are investors into small business. If they have a list of investors that invest in small business, contact them for an appointment. Please do not try to sell your idea over the telephone. Make an appointment, brush your teeth, let your wife select a tie for you, gather several of your business plans, wash the car, and prepare to make the presentation of your life.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.
