I am currently in college, but I would rather not be. I was wondering if there is a way to start a good business that I will be able to support a family on without a college degree or education? Can anyone give me examples or ideas…Please! Or is there any jobs that do not need degrees that pay fairly well that I could support a family on?

Stay in college, it will help you in the long run…learn all you can about everything….
Construction is a great company to own….Renovate kitchens and batrooms….
If you have a good idea, that’s the best way to start a company..
You have to work for the things you want..
good luck

James is right, a college degree will help you in the long run. Especially if you start a business and fail. There is a lot to think about when your starting your own business and you need to be very disciplined. Also, companies are sometimes inclined to hire someone who has tried to start their own business because that person would know how difficult it can be. Try to pick something your really interested in and learn everything you can about it then try to fine a niche that will make you money…good luck.

In addition to a college degree you need some experience in the industry you are looking to get into. For instance, a friend of mine who opened a bar (who had a business degree) saw his bar go under because he really had no idea what running a bar entailed past the normal business principals. Had this person taken a couple years to work as a manager he would easily have been able to avoid some of the pitfalls he encountered that sent his bar under. This isn’t always the case, and sometimes you might just find a product that is in such demand that just getting into the market is all you need, but that is the exception, not the rule. Good luck.
