I’d like to start a minority owned business. Is it the right path to hire a consultant to help with all of the applications? Or does the SBA help you for free? Thanks!

A minority owned business is just like any other business, except that it is majority-owned by a minority. Like any other businesses, a consultant is not required but the business owner can opt to use one if deemed necessary. Many businesses have started and thrived well even without consultants.

If you need help, the following can help you, just check for the location nearest you:

    SCORE
Minority Business Development Agency (a very good resource for you)

There is a website from the U.S. Small Business Administration with plenty of info on how-to….check “sba.gov and in their links you may find volunteer consultants ready to assist you for free.
