I am write poetry and would like to start a greeting card business. I would like to know if there’s anyone who has started a greeting card business and have been successful or not. What are some pointers you could possibly give me?

    you have to have good, original ideas for the verses of your cards.

    keep your ideas original.

    send out samples to as many places as possible, or even get a catalogue of your work made.

    create introductory offers, i.e. 2 for 1 etc etc

    ADVERTISE – its essential
    local newspapers, flyers etc

    create a website, offer a mail order service on it

    i was involved in a young enterprise company, where we made “create your own xmas cards” gift sets.

    in the gift sets we provided cards, envelopes, and accesories to decorate the cards with. these sold really well and were especially popular with the young and the elderly.

    thers just a few pointers ;)
