What can you do if a business is not paying some of its workers minimum wage and also paying some ( not all) of its workers off the books? Where would you go to report it?

You report it to your state wage control board – they will open an investigation, but if neither the employer nor any of the employees will admit to being paid off the books, it’s tough to prove.
Also, there are some industries where minimum wage is not required (restaurants come to mind, because of the tips).

In the meantime, I suggest you get a better job if you don’t like the pay you are getting now.
Love, Jack.

I would report it but a business only has to pay minimum wage if they have a certain # of employees. Try googling Labor department and you should get some information.
